Dual Soul Contracts Lovers, Enemies, and the People We’re Meant to Meet

Some people just feel different. Like you’ve known them forever. Or like they’ve come to turn your world upside down. And that’s usually because they have. Soul contracts are real, and they’re the reason why certain people shape us in ways no one else can.

Before we come into this life, our soul plans certain experiences. But we don’t do it alone. We choose key people from our soul group to journey with us again. Together, we decide who will support, who will challenge, who will break us open, and who will help us rebuild.

This is what a soul contract really is. An agreement between souls to show up in each other’s lives for a purpose. It’s not always about love and light. Sometimes the contract is about shaking you awake. Sometimes it’s about helping you finally see your worth. And sometimes, it’s about deep karmic healing that has been waiting lifetimes to complete.

These contracts can show up in all forms. Lovers, family members, best friends, mentors, the one who broke your heart, the one you cannot quite let go of, even the person who triggered your biggest spiral. Every one of them is part of your story. Sometimes it is soft and nourishing. Other times it is messy, painful, and raw. But the pattern is almost always the same. How Do You Know When a Connection Is a Soul Contract?

Some connections feel intense but pass quickly. Others linger, repeat, or resurface across different stages of life. A soul contract connection tends to leave a lasting internal imprint. You may notice recurring emotional themes, unfinished conversations, or a sense that something is still being integrated long after the person is gone.

Often, these connections arrive during periods of transition or awakening. They coincide with identity shifts, emotional breakthroughs, or major life redirections. The purpose is not always to stay together. The purpose is to catalyse growth, remembrance, or closure that the soul has been carrying across lifetimes.

In Michael Newton’s work on life between lives, he explains that we usually leave clues for ourselves. Three signs, messages, or moments that help us recognise someone who is part of our soul contract. It might be the way someone looks at you, a line they say that hits too deep, or a dream that brings a forgotten memory to the surface. These are the soul’s breadcrumbs. And when we follow them, we remember what we are here to learn together.

Now here is something people do not always realise. Your enemies, the ones who hurt you the most, can also be part of your soul group. They may have volunteered for that role, knowing it would be difficult, but understanding that it could break open something powerful in you. In the spirit world, these souls are often your closest allies. They are the ones who love you enough to challenge you in a way that forces your evolution.

But it is important to say this clearly. Not every horrible experience is divinely mapped out. Some people choose darkness. Some souls become so lost, disconnected, or broken that they cause harm outside the original contract. In those cases, it is not about lessons or growth. It is about free will, distortion, and deep soul work that needs to happen on the other side. If someone has hurt you beyond words, you did not choose that pain. And their healing is not your responsibility.

Understanding these dual soul contracts can be life changing. It helps you make sense of why some connections feel impossible to forget, why some relationships loop and repeat, and why you have always been drawn to certain people in ways that defy logic. In my work, I explore dual soul contracts between two people using a form of astrology called draconic astrology.
